Monday January 21

it was a fairly busy Monday as 10 teams faced off in 5 tilts around the NHL. Former Islanders are lending their help as they can. Let us take a peek at the FI happenings:

* Viktor Kozlov followed up a 2 goal performance with another one as the Washington Capitals pulled off a 6-5 come from behind SO win over the Pittsburgh Penguins. Kozlov scored Washington's 2nd goal, then added the game tying tally with about 4 and half minutes to force OT. Kozzer has 30 points (8 goals, 22 assists) on 48 games. He has scored 4 of his goals in the last 2 games alone after scoring only 4 in his first 46 games. Kozlov came up short in his attempt in the 1st round of the SO.

* Taylor Pyatt scored the too-little-too-late goal as the Minnesota Wild beat the host Vancouver Canucks 4-2. Pyatt has 12 goals and 14 assists for 26 points on 49 games. With the tally he snapped a 3 game point-less streak. Pyatt received 3rd star of the game honors. Goalie Roberto Luongo took the loss stopping 22 of 25 shots. He fell to 21-16-4 with a 2.11 goals against average and a .925 save percentage.
