It was a slow night in the NHL with only 4 games up for grabs. Let us take a look at the sprinkling of Former Islander contributions on Friday night:
* Jeff Hamilton snapped a 17 game point-less streak that stretched back to November 23 in a come-from-behind 4-3 win by the Carolina Hurricanes over the host Tampa Bay Lightning. Hamilton had a powerplay assist on a goal that cut the Lightning lead to 1 as the Hurricanes scored 3 straight to win. He now has 16 points (5 goals, 11 assists) on 40 games this season including 12 points (4 goals, 8 assists) on the man advantage.
* Randy Robitaille had a powerplay assist on the 2nd Senators' goal as Ottawa downed the host Buffalo Sabres 5-3. Robby now has 12 points (4 goals, 8 assists) on 30 games. It was only the 2nd powerplay assist for Robitaille on the season. Tim Connolly assisted on the first Buffalo goal. Connolly is on a torrid pace with 29 points (5 goals, 24 assists) on 32 games.
