There were 6 games up for grabs on Wednesday as 12 teams battled for important points in the standings. Former Islanders are lending a hand where and when they can. Let us take a look at the FI work:
* Tom Poti assisted on the opening goal of the game but the New York Islanders got the best of the defenseman and his Washington Capitals as the Isles beat the hosts 3-2 in the SO. Poti has 1 goal and 16 assists for 17 points on 50 games. With the helper Poti snapped a 3 game point-less streak. Fellow FI Viktor Kozlov missed on his attempt in the 1st round of the SO.
* Tim Connolly had 3 even strength assists as Buffalo Sabres pulled of a dramatic 2 goal come-from-behind to win 4-3 over the visiting Tampa Bay Lightning in OT. Connolly received 2nd star of the game honor and now has 34 points (5 goals, 29 assists) on 40 games. He snapped a 3 game point-less streak with the assists.
* Adrian Aucoin assisted on the opening goal of the game, a powerplay tally, as the Calgary Flames edged the host Dallas Stars 3-2. Aucoin has 8 goals and 22 assists for 30 points on 56 games. With the helper Aucoin capped 30+ points on a season for the 5th time in his career. It is Aucoin's first time hitting the plateau since the lockout (2003-04 season) when he was still with the Isles.
