Defenseman Dick Tarnstrom was traded from the Edmonton Oilers on Friday to the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange for left wing Curtis Glencross. Tarnstrom, who opted to play in Europe following the 2005-06 season that saw the Oilers fall 1 win short of the Stanley Cup, played only 29 games this year with Edmonton. He had 1 goal and 4 assists for 5 points with a -6 rating, 40 penalty minutes and 1 powerplay assist.
On his career Tarnstrom has played 287 games to the tune of 33 goals, 98 assists, 131 points, a -81 rating, 242 penalty minutes, 76 powerplay points (19 goals, 57 assists) and 1 game winning goal. He has played for the Isles, Penguins and Oilers.
