Friday February 8

There were 4 games on the schedule as 8 teams faced off in intense competitions. The heat is on for many teams trying to keep their heads over water. Others are gliding along just killing time until the playoffs. Former Islanders are lending their support when they can. Let us take a look at their efforts from Friday night:

* Boston captain Zdeno Chara scored the Bruins' first goal of the night as they came from a 2-0 deficit to beat the host Buffalo Sabres 3-2 in the SO. Chara notched the tally only 57 seconds in to the 3rd period. He has 8 goals and 27 assists for 35 points on 54 games.

* Michael Peca assisted on the tying goal just over 7 minutes into the 3rd period as the Columbus Blue Jackets fell to the host San Jose Sharks 2-1 in OT. Peca has 4 goals and 19 assists for 23 points on 42 games.
