There were only 2 games on the eve of the 2008 trade deadline. Former Islanders were active in both games so let us take a look at their contributions:
* Tim Connolly assisted on 2 goals as the Buffalo Sabres blew a 3-0 lead to fall the hapless Philadelphia Flyers 4-3 in the SO. Connolly has 5 goals and 32 assists for 37 points on 42 games. Over his last 3 games he has notched 6 points, all assists. Connolly was stuffed on his attempt in the 1st round of the SO.
* Jason Blake assisted on Toronto's 2nd goal as the Maple Leafs thumped and dumped the host Ottawa Senators 5-0. Blake has 11 goals and 27 assists for 38 points on 64 games. With the helper Blake snapped a 4 game point-less streak but is currently mired in a 10 game goal-less drought.
