There were 6 games on tap on Friday night around the league. Former Islanders are lending their support however they can. Here is a quick recap of the FI efforts from the opening day of February:
* Olli Jokinen had a powerplay assist for the Florida Panthers as they edged the visiting Vancouver Canucks 4-3 in SO. Jokinen has 50 points (24 goals, 26 assists) on 53 games this season. He has 22 points (11 goals, 11 assists) on the man advantage. It is the 5th time (all consecutive) that O-Jok has notched 50+ points on a season. Canucks' forward Taylor Pyatt missed his attempt in the first round of the SO. Roberto Luongo stopped 40 of 43 shots but only 1 of 2 in the SO. He fell to 22-17-5 on the year with a .924 save percentage and a rapidly bloating 2.16 goals against average.
* Todd Bertuzzi missed his attempt in the second round of the SO as the struggling Anaheim Ducks fell 1-0 to the host St. Louis Blues.
Check here for weekend updates as we write them here at FIW.
