Wednesday March 28

With only 4 games Wednesday chances were slim for any exellent Former Islander production. The result was a modest 3 assists. Here is a breakdown:

  • The Florida Panthers shocked the Atlanta Thrashers with a 3-2 come from behind SO win at home. Both Olli Jokinen and Juraj Kolnik assisted on the tying goal that forced OT. O-Jok now has 83 points in 77 games and in his current 6 game scoring streak has notched 14 points on 6 goals and 8 assists. Sadly his 5 game goal scoring streak, the longest of his career, came to an end. In a week O-Jok has jumped 2 spots to 14th in the league in points. Kolnik's assist was his 13th of the year and 24th point overall. The assist ended a 3 game pointless streak.
  • Jeff Hamilton continued to build on his spotty yet improved play by tallying an assist on the lone goal in Chicago's 3-1 home loss to Anaheim. Since his 5 point night 2 and a half weeks ago Hamilton only has 3 points, all assists, in his last 7 games. With 17 goals and 19 assists Hamilton's 36 points is an impressive mark for a player who had never played a full season of NHL hockey. What makes Hamilton most intriguing, though, is that a quarter of his points (6 goals and 3 assists) have come in only 2 of his 64 games played.

There are 8 more games on schedule for Thursday night. Keep posted for all your exciting FI news.
