Friday March 23

Friday night was no different than any other this past week. Former Islanders were nearly absent from all four competitions accounting for a lone goal. Here is a quick look:
  • Bryan McCabe scored his 12th of the season on a late first period powerplay goal for Toronto in a 5-4 debacle of a loss to the Buffalo Sabres. McCabe's goal, scored with 1:05 left in the first period, opened up a 4 goal run over the next 24:58 that gave his team a 4-1 advantage. The home team Sabres answered with 4 goals in only 10:20 to defeat the Maple Leafs in regulation severely hurting their playoff hopes. McCabe now has 8 powerplay goals this year, second best on Toronto.

Saturday's recap, which will follow shortly, features FIs finally breaking out of their slump. Until next time.
