FI Injury: John Erskine
Capital's defenseman John Erskine will miss the rest of the regular season after dislocating his thumb in Washington's 3-0 loss on Friday night to the Carolina Hurricanes. Injuries plagued Erskine coming into the season and in 29 games he accounted for 1 goal, 6 assists and 7 points while racking up 69 penalty minutes and a plus/minus of -13. He averaged 18:03 of ice time on the year. Though 7 points might not sound like much it was a single season high for Erskine who has only 12 total NHL points (4 goals, 8 assists) in 170 career games with Dallas, the Islanders and Washington.
