Tuesday March 20

With 8 games being fought on Tuesday there was so much potential for Former Islander goodness. Alas that was not the case. FIs played a part in 1 game on the night accounting for 2 goals. Here is a quick look.

  • Olli Jokinen netted his 34th goal of the season and eventual game winner in Florida's 4-1 road win over the meager Philadelphia Flyers. Jokinen now has 76 points in 73 games and is 4 goals away from equalling last year's career high 38. Thanks to his big night Saturday against the Islanders, Jokinen has 6 points (3 goals, 3 assists) in his last 2 games. In his last 11 overall he has 17 points. As well, Juraj Kolnik added a bonus goal with 1:07 remaining in the third. The tally was Kolnik's 11th of the year. Since ending a 4 game goalless streak on Saturday night Kolnik has scored in 2 consecutive games. The back-to-back goals are his first since October 18-20, 2005 when he did it against the Devils and Capitals.

6 more games are on schedule for Wednesday night. Keep coming back to FIW for all the pertinent and exciting Former Islander action.
