There were a meager 3 games on the schedule on Monday night in the NHL. Former Islanders made a couple of contributions as teams try to lock up playoff spots as we rapidly reach the end of the season. Let us take a peek at the FI accomplishments:
* Tough winger Eric Godard assisted on Calgary's 5th goal as the Flames thumped the visiting St. Louis Blues 7-3. Not an offensive force, it was the first assist of the season for Godard who now has 2 points thanks to a lone goal this season. He has played in 61 games. With the helper Godard snapped a 57 game point-less streak. Godard had gone 64 games without an assist dating back to March 3, 2007.
* Roberto Luongo won again stopping 17 of 18 shots as the Vancouver Canucks edged the host Los Angeles Kings 2-1 in OT. Luongo has won his last 3 starts and improved to 31-20-9 on the season with a healthy .922 save percentage and a slim 2.21 goals against average. For the 5th time this season Luongo has a winning streak of 3 or more games. Luongo has a 10-9 record this season in OT and SO games.
