The NHL picked up the pace a little bit on Tuesday night with 6 games. FIs were active everywhere. Let us take a look:
* Jason Blake had a huge night for the Toronto Maple Leafs in their 5-4 SO loss to the visiting Atlanta Thrashers. Blake had 3 assists including one with the man advantage but failed to convert on a SO attempt instantly turning the effort into an Atlanta win. Blake, who is playing concurrently with treatment for a form of leukemia, is on a tear with 11 points (2 goals, 9 assists) in only 10 games.
* Another FI, Michael Peca, also had a 3 assist night. Peca helped power a 7-4 Columbus Blue Jackets win over the host Chicago Blackhawks. Peca now has 5 points (1 goal, 4 assists) in 6 games with his new team.
* FI Wyatt Smith had his first point of the season for the Colorado Avalanche, an assist on the empty netter in their 4-2 win over the host Edmonton Oilers. It took Smith 9 games to final for the scorecard.
* Derek Armstrong assisted on the 3rd goal in Los Angeles' 6-0 thumping of the visiting Nashville Predators. Armstrong now has 3 points, all assists, in 10 games this season.
Check back soon with FIW.
