Thursday October 25

Nine games were on the NHL schedule on Thursday night. Action was a little more muted than Wednesday. FIs only had 1 goal and 4 assists for 5 points on the night. Let us a take a look:

* Raffi Torres had a huge night scoring 3 assists (1 powerplay) in Edmonton's 5-4 SO win over the visiting Minnesota Wild. The Oilers winger also missed a chance for a SO goal. The season has been a bit of a struggle for Torres so far as he only has 6 points (3 goals, 3 assists) in 10 games this season. Fellow FI Denis Grebeshkov had a powerplay assist on the Oilers third goal of the game. The assist was Grebeshkov's first point of the season in five games. Mark Parrish scored the tying goal 9 minutes into the third period to force OT. It was the third straight game that Parrish scored a goal. This was the first time Parrish scored goals in three straight games since December 31-January 4 of last season when he tallied 4 goals in 3 games.

* Derek Armstrong assisted on the game winner in Los Angeles' 2-1 squeaker over the visiting Dallas Stars. The assist was Armstrong's third in as many games.
