* Bryan Smolinski netted an insurance goal as the Montreal Canadiens shutdown the visiting Boston Bruins for a 4-1 win and a 1-0 series lead. Smoke scored his first of the postseason, the first playoff goal for him since April 23, 2007 while playing with the Vancouver Canucks late last season. Canadiens' FI defenseman Roman Hamrlik received the 2nd star of the game honor for his effort.
* The host San Jose Sharks blanked the Calgary Flames 2-0 to even their series at 1 game a piece.
* The visiting Dallas Stars blanked the defending Stanley Cup Champion Anaheim Ducks to grab a 1-0 series lead.
