Two more series came to an end on Sunday as the Quarterfinals officially begin to wind down. There were 3 more games and 6 teams still with Stanley Cup dreams but when the day was done 2 would begin thinking about next year. Former Islanders are helping out whatever ways they can. Let us take a brief look at the games:
* Chris Osgood stopped all 20 shots he faced as the Detroit Red Wings blanked the host Nashville Predators 3-0 to win the series 4-2. Osgood improved to 2-0 on the playoffs this season seemingly taking the top spot from Dominik Hasek for the time being. In 3 appearances Ozzie has an unbelievable .981 save percentage and an anorexic 0.39 goals against average. He has stopped 53 of 54 shots in 155 minutes of ice time.
* The back-and-forth battle between San Jose and Calgary will continue for one final game. The Flames blanked the visiting Sharks 2-0 to even the series at 3 wins a piece. After taking a 2-1 series lead the Flames lost the next 2 to give the Sharks a 3-2 advantage. With this shutout the Flames have now insured at least one Game 7 in this year's Quarterfinals.
* Four 3rd Period goals did in the Ducks as the Dallas Stars outburst sealed a 4-1 win over visiting Anaheim. The defending champs were knocked out by a more determined Dallas squad who sealed the series 4 games to 2.
