There were 3 more games on the playoff schedule on Monday as the Quarterfinals chug along. Though there were no Former Islander happenings of substance we will briefly recap the games:
* Pittsburgh has now put Ottawa up against the ropes grabbing a stranglehold 3-0 series lead. The Penguins beat the host Senators 4-1 to secure an advantage only overcome twice in the history of the NHL playoffs.
* The Nashville Predators showed up and pulled off a come-from-behind win over the visiting Detroit Red Wings 5-3. The win cut Detroit's series lead to 2-1.
* Minnesota and Colorado do not know how to play without OT. For the third time in as many games sudden death was a factor as the Wild beat the host Avalanche 3-2 to take a 2-1 series lead.
