Two more Semifinals series kicked off on Friday night. There was one Former Islander happening. Let us look at the results:
* Martin Straka opened the scoring 13:40 in to the 1st Period but it was for naught as the New York Rangers fell to the host Pittsburgh Penguins 5-4. The Pens grabbed an early series lead at 1-0. The Straka goal came with the man advantage. Straka has been impressive with 7 points (2 goals, 5 assists) on 6 playoff games. He has notched 3 of those points (1 goal, 2 assists) on the powerplay. The Blueshirts blew a 3-0 lead in the final 32 minutes.
* Dallas grabbed an early lead beating the host San Jose Sharks 3-2 in OT. The Stars lead the series 1-0.
