There were 6 more games on Tuesday yet due to the injury bug (i.e. Olli Jokinen, Aaron Johnson, Robert Nilsson, Tim Connolly, etc.) Former Islander contributions are way down right now. FIs only made inroads in 2 of those half dozen games. Here is a look at their accomplishments:
Washington forward Viktor Kozlov knocked home a goal and added a powerplay assist but it was not destined to be a good night for the Capitals as they fell 5-3 to the visiting Florida Panthers. Kozzer now has 4 goals and 9 assists for 13 points on 20 games. Over the last 4 games Kozlov has managed 5 points on 2 goals and 3 assists. Also getting involved was Florida defenseman Bryan McCabe who scored a powerplay tally that staked the Panthers to a 3-1 lead midway through the 2nd Period. McCabe has played exceptionally well when in the lineup notching 4 goals and 7 assists for 11 points on 14 games. The score nixed a 6 game goal-less streak dating back to November 18.
Calgary d-man Adrian Aucoin recorded the secondary assist on the lone Flames' goal as they fell to the visiting Dallas Stars 3-1. Aucoin also received the 3rd star of the game honor for his efforts. Aucoin has 9 points (3 goals, 6 assists) on 25 games this season. Aucoin is rapidly approaching a couple of milestones including his 800th game, his 100th career powerplay assist and his 600th penalty minute. He already notched his 100th career goal earlier this season.
