The St. Louis Blues announced today that captain and defenseman Eric Brewer will be out indefinitely. Brewer is scheduled for surgery on December 19 for a herniated disc. The injury and surgery ostensible ends Brewer's season unless he can recover quickly from such an invasive procedure. We wish Eric a speedy recovery.Update: It was announced Friday afternoon that Brewer's back surgery was a success. He will now get back on the road to recovery.
