Friday January 30

We are playing a little bit of catch up here at FIW so here goes. Friday night there were 5 games with Former Islanders tipping in their help in 3 of those contests. Here is a quick look:

Columbus center Michael Peca notched the primary assist on the lone Blue Jackets goal as they edged the visiting Ottawa Senators 1-0. Peca now has 4 goals and 10 assists for 14 points on 43 games. For the 12th straight season Peca has reached 10+ helpers.




Calgary defenseman Adrian Aucoin notched the insurance goal with 7:30 remaining in the 3rd Period as the Flames dispensed of the visiting Nashville Predators 3-1. Aucoin is riding a 6 game point scoring streak in which he has notched 7 points (1 goal, 6 assists. He has 7 goals and 16 assists for 23 points on 48 games. Aucoin leads all Flames' d-men in goals scored and has a 3 tally margin over star blueliner Dion Phaneuf.


Edmonton winger Robert Nilsson received the primary assist on the powerplay insurance goal as the Oilers downed the visiting Minnesota Wild 3-1. Nily now has 7 goals and 9 assists for 16 points on 38 games. Over the last 2 games Nilsson has pulled his weight scoring a goal and adding 2 helpers for 3 points.
