There were a handful of games (5) on the NHL schedule on Sunday with Former Islanders making impacts in only a pair of them. Here is a quick peek at the FI happenings:
Washington defenseman Tom Poti assisted on his teams' fifth and final goal as the Capitals thumped the visiting Pittsburgh Penguins 5-2. Poti has 2 assists over the last 3 contests and now has 3 goals and 9 assists for 12 points on 34 games. Poti is only 7 points shy of career #300.
Boston captain and d-man Zdeno Chara scored his team's 3rd goal as the Bruins were felled by the host Tampa Bay Lightning 4-3. Chara now has 14 goals and 21 assists for 35 points on 60 games. He is one tally short of 100 goals on his career. For the 6th straight season Chara has recorded 35 or more points.
