Preseason Friday October 3

The sick bug hit again temporarily rendering FIW static for a couple of days. We have a lot of days to update so we begin with Friday night when 16 teams were in action in 8 exhibition tilts. There was only one Former Islander making a major contribution. Let us take a look:

New Jersey Devils' backup goaltender Kevin Weekes suffered an OT loss at the hands of one of his former teams as the Islanders beat the host Devils 3-2. Weekes stopped 17 of 20 shots faced but could not stop the 2nd one he saw only 2:28 in to the OT frame. With the loss, Weekes fell to 1-2-1 on the preseason.
