* Tough right winger Arron Asham scored his 3rd goal of the season in New Jersey's 6-1 evisceration of the visiting Tampa Bay Lightning. The new Devil now has 5 points (3 goals, 2 assists) in his first 11 games with the team.
* Olli Jokinen and fellow FI Richard Zednik flexed some offensive muscle on Wednesday night. O-Jok scored a powerplay goal and added two assists (one with the man advantage) to help power a 4-2 Florida win over the visiting Carolina Hurricanes. Zednik added the game winner, a powerplay tally, with only 2:19 remaining in the third period. O-Jok now has 13 points (7 goals, 6 assists) in 12 games and has 5 points in his last 2 games alone notching 3 goals and 2 assists in that time. The goal was Zed's third of the year and he has 5 points (3 goals, 2 assists) in 10 games.
* Michael Peca was awarded an assist on the empty net goal in Columbus's 4-1 win over the host Los Angeles Kings. In 9 games the Blue Jackets center has 6 points on 1 goal and 5 assists. He has been an asset to bolstering a surprisingly good Columbus offense in the early part of this season.
