Friday March 30

With 8 games on the schedule for Friday much Former Islander action was possible. Sadly the night was slow for FIs with only a goal and 3 assists to their record. Here is a breakdown:
  • Brad Lukowich assisted on the opening goal in New Jersey's 3-1 win over visiting Philadelphia. Extremely cold as of late Lukowich ended a 10 game pointless streak. He now has 12 points in 71 games with the Devils this season.
  • Olli Jokinen assisted on the goal that forced OT in Florida's 3-2 home win. The assist, O-Jok's 47th of the season and 16th on the powerplay, lifted his production to 84 points in 78 games.
  • The night after he finally made it on to a Detroit boxscore Todd Bertuzzi netted his first goal as a Redwing. Detroit would eventually lose the game to the visiting Dallas Stars in the shootout, 4-3. The goal was Bertuzzi's second of the season. Including his pre-surgery numbers with Florida Bertuzzi has 10 points in 12 games (2 goals, 8 asssists) this season. Mathieu Schneider assisted on Detroit's third goal. The assist was Schneider's 41st of the year and 52nd point overall in only 65 games played.

Saturday night had 10 more games on schedule. For a recap check back soon with FIW.
