There were a paltry 3 games on the NHL schedule Tuesday night. Former Islanders turned in hearty performances in 2 of those contests. Here is a quick look at their contributions:
Atlanta defenseman Mathieu Schneider netted an unassisted insurance goal as the Thrashers pounced on the host Toronto Maple Leafs for a 6-3 victory. Schneids snapped a 6 game goal-less stretch with the tally and now has 2 goals and 4 assists for 6 points on 15 games. Schneider has done well since returning from a hip injury recording a goal and an assist for 2 points on 3 games.
Calgary d-man Adrian Aucoin recorded a powerplay helper on the game winning goal as the Flames decimated the visiting Los Angeles Kings 6-2. Aucoin has 8 points (3 goals, 5 assists) on 22 games. Over the last 5 games Aucoin has recorded half his season points (4) with 1 goal and 3 assists. Winger Todd Bertuzzi snapped a 4 game point-less stretch with a powerplay helper on the Flames' 5th goal. Bert has 7 goals and 8 assists for 15 points on 22 games. The countdown to career point #600 is on as Bertuzzi is currently at 595.
