Updates: Zhitnik & Robitaille

Well we have learned some news on a couple of FIs:

It appears as if defenseman Alexei Zhitnik's tryout with Dynamo Moscow of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) has turned into a full-time position. Despite searching we at FIW could not find any contract terms for Zhitnik though we did find out that he has 1 goal and 2 assists for 3 points in his first 5 games. We wish Alexei the best in the KHL.

Winger Randy Robitaille has signed with Lugano of the Swiss National League A (NLA). Robitaille left a position with Yaroslavl in the old Russian Super League early last season to join the Ottawa Senators when things were looking up. Well things bombed in the northern capital and Randy was among the players cast aside. According to sources Randy signed a 3 year deal yet financial terms were not found. Robitaille returns to the league he led in scoring during the NHL's 2004-05 lockout when he notched 67 points (22 goals, 45 assists) on 36 games with Zurich. We wish Randy the best in Switzerland.

Check back for more news. We are buzzing with excitement as training camps are just around the corner!
