Much like defenseman Bryan Berard, veteran center Jim Dowd is attending Philadelphia Flyers' training camp on a tryout basis. If Dowd does he thing and continues to impress the Flyers' brass he could forseeably lock up a contract in the next few days. Dowd played for Philly last season in 73 games notching 5 goals and 5 assists for 10 points.
A 16 year veteran, Dowd has suited up for the Devils, Canucks, Isles, Flames, Oilers, Wild, Canadiens, Blackhawks, Avalanche and Flyers. His 10 teams is second only to Current Islander Mike Sillinger for most in the history of the NHL.
We wish Jim the best in trying to secure employment for next season.
