The Vancouver Canucks have announced that the recently retired Trevor Linden will see his #16 raised to the rafters as he will join the team's Hall of Fame. The ceremony will take place on December 17, 2008 as the Canucks host the Edmonton Oilers. Linden will be only the 2nd player on the team to see his number retired following in the lead of #12 Stan Smyl who spent all 12 of his pro seasons with the Canucks (8 as captain) and to this day is still 3rd all time on the team's points list (3rd in goals, 2nd in assists). Linden ranks 2nd all time on the team in points (2nd in goals, 1st in assists). Linden was captain of the team for 6 seasons before his odyssey brought him across the league and back again.
Congratulations on a great accomplishment, you earned it Trevor.
