The Tampa Bay Lightning have secured the services of center Wyatt Smith. Smith signed a 1 year, 2 way deal for an as yet undetermined amount. Update: The NHL portion of the 2-way contract would pay Smith a full-time amount of $500K.
Smith played 25 games for the Colorado Avalanche last season recording 3 assists. Originally drafted in the 9th Round, 233rd overall of the 1997 NHL Entry Draft by the Phoenix Coyotes, Smith has played in 211 games to the tune of 32 points (10 goals, 22 assists). Smith has played the Yotes, Predators, Isles, Wild and Avs.
