Free Agency Day 2: Slow Going

While players are being snapped up left and right by new squads, there has been a virtual wave of nothingness in terms of Former Islander movement. So far today no FI has signed a contract. In fact few have even garnered much interest. Even Miroslav Satan, a proven yet enigmatic scorer, has received little interest according to David Pagnotta at The Fourth Period. This is not surprising since FIW noted back in June that the FI talent pool is awfully shallow this offseason.

The Isles, on the other hand, have acquired a defenseman (Mark Streit), a veteran forward (Doug Weight) and a fairly untested goaltender (Yann Danis). Welcome to the Orange and Blue and remember that though you may be Isles now you will be Former Islanders sooner or later.
