Thursday May 10

Thursday night kicked off the start of the Conference Finals. We are now down to the final four teams all vying for Lord Stanley's Cup, undoubtedly the most beautiful trophy in all of sportdom (if that is a word). The Ottawa Senators kicked off the action at the Buffalo Sabres with a convincing 5-2 win. The Sens grab an early 1-0 series lead. Seeing as we are down to less than a handful of Former Islanders still in the running nothing major happened. Here is a quick look at the FI night:
  • FI Tim Connolly had a poor night logging 17:45 of ice time with a -2 rating, only 1 shot on goal and a minor penalty that led to an Ottawa 5 on 3 powerplay goal. The lack of offense extended Connolly's postseason scoreless streak to 2 games.

Tomorrow night the Redwings take on the Ducks in Anaheim. Check back soon for more FI playoff highlights.
