- Though no Former Islanders were on the scoresheet in the Detroit Redwing's 4-1 home win over the San Jose Sharks, they did make news. While the Redwings were celebrating a 3-2 series lead, d-man Mathieu Schneider was lamenting the check that broke his wrist knocking him out of the rest of the playoffs. Schneider didn't even get to clock 3 full shifts before San Jose captain Patrick Marleau rubbed him into the wall unfortunately breaking the wrist in the process. In 10 postseason games, Schneider had 4 points including 3 powerplay assists and the game winner on the man advantage in Game 4 of this series.
Check back soon as we are nearing the end of the second round. Thank you.
