Game 2 of the Western Conference Final was a heated event. A late scrum put a damper on what is quickly turning out to be more Detroit dominance. Here is a quick recap:

* Detroit goaltender Chris Osgood stopped 17 of a meager 18 Dallas shots as the host Red Wings edged the Stars 2-1. Detroit grabbed a 2-0 series lead but the story was not Detroit's early domination but the tensions running between the teams. Late in the 3rd Period Dallas forward Mike Ribeiro slashed Osgood up and over the backside of the goal and across the chest following contact that seemed to have sparked his ire. Replay seems to show that Ozzie nonchalantly butted Ribeiro with the end of his stick as the Dallas forward was chasing down a puck deep in the Detroit zone. Ribeiro took exception and lost his cool pulling a Chris Simon-esque swing on Detroit's new #1 keeper. If Osgood intentionally butted Ribeiro it was in poor taste but Ribeiro really took it too far. Word is still out on whether or not he will be suspended. Otherwise, Ozzie is still a major factor for Detroit's success. In 9 appearances (8 starts) he is now 8-0 with a 1.40 goals against average (!) and a .939 save percentage (!) with only 1 shutout (buh!).
